Disney’s Art of Animation is a great option for Disney-goers looking for a less expensive resort without losing any of the Disney World flair. I stayed at this resort recently and was very pleased with my experience. The resort features 4 themed areas: The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Cars, and Finding Nemo. My personal room was in The Little Mermaid section, and I was thrilled with the well-themed standard room my husband and I stayed in. It was complete with a clam shell bed and under the sea themed shower.

Here are some images from the other three themed areas.

This Lion King themed living room is a blast with its fun colors and elaborate theming.

The theming in the Cars section makes you feel as if you’ve truly stepped into Radiator Springs.

Disney has truly outdone themselves with the theming of this resort. Here is the view of the pool in the Cars section.

This table becomes a bed with the pull of the handles, perfect for little visitors.

Each themed area has its own pool, which is helpful in spreading out the crowds throughout the resort (a common problem in the Value groups). The rooms are also strategically planned to accommodate families with several kids using pull-out couches and multitasking dining tables. Refrigerators, microwaves, and sinks are found in the family suites and are perfect for breakfast before the parks and storing drinks or healthy snacks. (photo: insidethemagic.net)

The Landscape of Flavors is the food court at the Art of Animation resort. It is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and is accepted on the Dining Plan as a quick service credit. The food court offers pizza, pasta, burgers, salads, sandwiches, and more. There is also a grab and go section available with drinks, fruits, and other packaged items. If you’ve stayed at a Disney Resort before, it is similar to a typical Disney food court. They are perfectly fine to eat at (and usually tasty), but there’s nothing
super special about them.

This lively resort also offers Movies Under the Stars for little viewers to see their favorite Disney movies on select nights. Surrey bikes are available to rent for 2-6 people. This is a great activity for the entire family and loads of fun! Art of Animation also features a 1.38 mile jogging trail along with the Righteous Reef Playground.

As you can see, the Art of Animation Resort has a lot to offer, especially considering its price tag. The resort is definitely targeted for a younger Disney audience, but this does not stop adults from having a great experience too. If you are looking at the Value Resorts, I think this is a great choice. With its fun and colorful theming along with multiple room types, it is sure to be a magical stay.  (photo: disneyfoodblog.com)
