Today, Disney has debuted next years medals for completing any of the marathon weekend events. As usual, the medals are quite nice and the entire event makes for a wonderful weekend of fun and entertainment. No matter if you are running your first race, your 100th race, or just going to cheer on some friends, Marathon Weekends are a unique experience that are often overlooked. 

If you are a runner, Disney races are some of the best events to take part in. The routes are interesting, the race is very well kept, quite safe, and it really has that Disney flare that the company brings to everything they do. If you're interested in what the medals look like, be sure to take a look at the image below!  Believe it or not, during these races you even get to run through some of the parks. 



Also, here's Disney's statement about this years medals and the Marathon Weekend Overall: 

  • "MickeyMinnieDonaldPlutoGoofy and Dopey – oh my! All of your favorite characters are gearing up to host the most magical race weekend on Earth! The Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend presented by Cigna celebrates the Fab 5 and Dopey with entertainment, character meet & greets and, of course, medals! There’s still a chance to earn the whole collection! As part of The Dopey Challenge, participants run the 5K, 10K, Half Marathon and Marathon in four days for a total of 48.6 magical miles. Runners who complete all of the races within pacing requirements will earn the Goofy Race and Half Challenge medal plus the Dopey Challenge finisher medal (in addition to the 5K, 10K, Half Marathon and Marathon medal) for a total of six pieces of “bling.”"
